PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital still camera where at least one of a photographing condition and an image processing method is set comparatively easily by reading setting value and setting the respective circuits of the camera so as to obtain photographing conditions or the image processing method which are decided by means of the set value. SOLUTION: It is determined whether a memory card mounted on the digital still camera is the one for recording the image or the one for setting (51). When the setting memory card is mounted (YES in 52), the recorded setting value is read (53). The photographing conditions and the image processing method are set in each circuit to photograph the subject, based on the read setting value. It is confirmed as to whether the memory card is ejected, based on a detecting signal (55). If the memory card is not pulled out, a recording indication to a user is displayed in a display device (56).
