PURPOSE: Provided is an air cleaner using a photocatalyst, which has improved cleaning ability of indoor atmosphere containing volatile organic compound or cigarette smoke, etc. CONSTITUTION: The air cleaner comprises a metal plate or a metal net(20) coated with the photocatalyst(10), UV lamp(30) for irradiating UV to the photocatalyst(10), current supplying means(40) for supplying DC current to the metal plate(20), contamination sensing means(50), control means(60) for controlling the current supplying means(40) according to the contamination degree.
