PURPOSE: A variable automatic diffuser is provided to achieve an effective air conditioning performance with reduced energy consumption. CONSTITUTION: A lower support(42) connected to a lower cylinder(12) is fixed to a diffuser housing(50). An upper cylinder(11) covering the lower cylinder is arranged to move vertically by a driving force from a shape memory alloy coil(30). A bias spring(31) is arranged within a cylinder(10) to be contracted or expanded by the driving force from the shape memory alloy coil. One end of the coil is fixed to a coil fixing plate(41) which is connected to an upper support(40) arranged within the diffuser housing. A diffuser vane(20) has an angle which automatically changes in accordance with the temperature of air supplied from an air conditioning system, during heating or cooling operation. Thus, distribution of an air flow from a diffuser is adjusted, allowing forming of whirl wind.
