PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical pickup device which is capable of easily positioning a diffraction grating and hologram element and prevents the diffraction grating and the hologram element from being adversely affected by the heat generation of a semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device 1 has a holder 20 which guides the transmission type diffraction grating 12 and the hologram element 13 in a direction perpendicular to a substrate surface 17a and holds both in the state of not bringing both into contact with its surface. The positions in the height direction of the transmission type diffraction grating 12 and the hologram element 13 may, therefore, be regulated simply by moving the transmission type diffraction grating and the hologram element 13 in a vertical direction. Since the heat of the semiconductor laser 11, etc., is not transmitted from the substrate 17 directly to the transmission type diffraction grating 12 and the hologram element 13, the trouble occurring in the thermal expansion of these elements may be averted. |
