DOUBLE SIDED LINEAR MOTOR

PURPOSE: A double sided linear motor is provided to precisely control the position of a rotor by preventing the vertical force from generating between a magnet and a back iron. CONSTITUTION: A double sided linear motor comprises a fixing plate(3) having "I" shape. A pair of coil units(1,1') are vertically attached at both sides of the fixing plate(3). The fixing plate(3) is made of non-magnetic material such as an aluminum. A fixing portion(2) is formed at an underside of the fixing plate(3). A back iron(5) is provided to surround the fixing plate(3). The back iron(5) is made of a magnetic material. A plurality of magnets(4,4') are sequentially arranged on the back iron(5) in such a manner that the back iron(5) is adjacent to the coil units(1,1'). A position detecting circuit(6) is formed on an upper surface of the fixing portion(2). A position detecting magnet(7) is attached at an underside of the back iron(5).
