The gas leakage test adaptor (1) has a structure that allows the gas transferred from the pipe wall to accumulate in a volume, in a short time in order to enable the measurement of the leakage that may occur in the pipes of a system containing a certain fluid. It is mounted on the pipe in such a manner that it comprises the region expected to have a leakage of the pipes of a system containing a certain fluid, and the leaking portion of the pipe is imperviously covered by the closed volume. Gas, accumulated in the closed collecting volume is analysed by means of a detector. As the concentration of the gas will increase in a closed volume, the gas leakage test results and/or leakage characteristics are more accurate and reliable.
