PREPARING AND EXECUTING A PROGRAMME IN A TERMINAL SUPPLEMENTARY CHIP CARD

The invention concerns the preparation and execution of a programme in a terminal supplementary chip card. In order to execute a programme in a second chip card (C2) inserted in a terminal (TE) in addition to a first chip card (C1) containing data related to the owner of the first card, the second card (C2) communicates with the terminal through command and response exchanges (DEM[ISX]=IPA]; CP2) between the two cards relayed by command and response exchanges (DEM[ISX], CP1) between the first card and the terminal. For example, the terminal is a mobile radiotelephone terminal with a SIM card as first card, not requiring any SIM Toolkit protocol interface between the terminal and the second card. The preparation and execution of the programme provides for compatibility and adaptation of the second card.
