<p>The cover (5) comprises a body (8) which is made of a relatively hard material and provided with a tear guide groove (10) and a tear activating cavity (11) in addition to comprising a leather sheet (6) on the outer side and in which the tear activating cavity (11) extends. The steering wheel comprises one said cover for the airbag module which is provided on the hub thereof. The inventive method consists in a moulding operation for the body (8) involving a first portion of the tear activating cavity (11), followed by an operation in which the material of the cover is perforated with respect to the remaining thickness thereof.</p> |
