A novel fibrous structure (I), optionally including a particulate component, contains: (A) active agent(s) for liquid treatment, which coat and/or impregnate at least part of the fibers and/or particles; (B) optionally adhesive(s); and (C) optionally auxiliary agent(s) field-activatable in the liquid phase. A novel fibrous structure (I), optionally including a particulate component, contains: (A) active agent(s) for liquid treatment, which coat and/or impregnate at least part of the fibers and/or particles; (B) optionally adhesive(s); and (C) optionally auxiliary agent(s) field-activatable in the liquid phase. (A) conforms to at least one of conditions (a), (b) and (c); and (B)/(C) (if present) conforms to at least one of conditions (d) and (e): (a) (A) is present in a defined non-homogeneous distribution and in a predetermined location and amount, being absent or present in different amounts in other locations; (b) (I) is combined with at least one depot for (A), so that (A) is released during use of (I); (c) (A) is one or more of the following, in a defined homogeneous distribution: (i) natural or chemically modified polysaccharides and their salts, alginic acid (or salts), chitosan (or salts), polyacrylic acid, xanthan (or salts) or polymeric amines (or salts); (ii) organic flocculants; (iii) humic materials, from which water-soluble components have been removed by precipitation, flocculation and/or filtration; (iv) oxides and hydroxides of hafnium, niobium, cerium, tungsten, molybdenum or germanium; (v) gases, especially hydrogen or oxygen; (vi) alkaline earth metal hydroxides, especially magnesium or calcium hydroxide; (vii) carbonates, especially magnesium, calcium, potassium or sodium carbonate; (viii) primary, secondary or tertiary phosphates; (ix) aromas, stimulants, essential minerals, spices, organic acids, vitamins, liposomes, medicaments, glucose, carbohydrates (monomeric, oligomeric or polymeric), enzymes, food additives, foodstuffs, proteins, hydrogen carbonates or carbonates, (x) biocides, fertilizers or animal nutrients; (d) (C) is bonded in or on (I) using (B); (e) (C) is activatable in the liquid by at least one of gravitational, centrifugal, magnetic and electrical fields. Independent claims are included for particles or fibers on which humic materials having a reduced content of the preparation of (I).
