A lopper (10) of the type having an anvil (22) cooperable with a blade (40) actuated by a pair of elongated members (12,14) made of moldable material, the first member (12) being unitary and comprising a first handle (18) merging into a first gear segment (20) having a central post (32) integral therewith, the first member (12) terminating at a distal end by the anvil (22), the second elongated member (14) comprising a second handle (24) merging into a second gear segment (26) at one end of the member, the second gear segment (26) having a second post (34) integral therewith, the first and second members (12,14) being pivotally connected to a metal plate (38) at the central and second posts.
