The invention concerns a method wherein, before executing a programme contained in a second chip card (C2) inserted in a terminal (TE), such as a mobile radiotelephone terminal, added to a first chip card (C1) containing data related to a telecommunication network (RR) whereto the terminal is linked, one of the cards (C1, C2) is authenticated by the other or both cards are mutually authenticated. This double authentication (A1, A2) guarantees the authenticity of the programme for its execution globally in the terminal and the origin of the second card distributed through standard channels for the network operator.
