<p>An antenna system including a lens mounted on a conductive ground plane or conductive ground enclosure capable of radiating symmetric or asymmetric radiation profiles. The lens may be a gradient lens with a dielectric constant that varies as a function of radial distance through the lens. The lens may be formed in the shape of at least a portion of a surface of revolution such as a spheroid with a circular cross section such that planar waveforms can be radiated or focussed. The antenna system may be outfitted with feed and/or reception devices.</p> |
