The switching points have an entry rail (8) at one side of a carrier frame (2) and a pair of relatively angled exit rails (14,14A) at the opposite side of the carrier frame, with a pivoted rail tongue (16) between the entry and exit rails operated via a setting device (40), also used for controlling blocking devices (60) for the entry rail and each exit rail, in dependence on the position of the rail tongue. The carrier frame (2) has a pair of longitudinal elements (3) coupled via apertured plates (4,5), supporting the entry and exit rails (8,14,14A), at their ends, the carrier (35) for the rail tongue (16) cooperating with a S-shaped guide (41) provided by the apertured plate supporting the exit rails.
