PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polarized light diffractive cholesteric liquid crystal film of which the diffracted rays themselves produce specified polarized light such as circularly polarized light or linearly polarized light. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a polarized light diffractive cholesteric liquid crystal film contains the first step to form a cholesteric liquid crystal film on an alignment supporting substrate, the second step to transfer a diffraction pattern of a diffraction element substrate to the surface of the cholesteric liquid crystal film and to form a region exhibiting diffractiveness on a part of the film and the third step to release the alignment supporting substrate from the cholesteric liquid crystal film.
