<p>A timing reproducing unit (12) outputs a differential value ηi of 1/2 symbol time of the synthesized amplitude variation which is the sum of the in-phase amplitude variation represented by the absolute value of the difference between the amplitude in-phase component Li of the baseband signal sampled by a sampling clock having a rate twice the symbol rate and a half of the symbol period and the orthogonal amplitude variation represented by the absolute value of the difference between the amplitude orthogonal component Qi of the baseband signal and a half of the symbol period to an averaging section (22). The averaging section (22) averages the differential values ηi, and outputs a phase control signal Vi corresponding to this to a phase control section (23) so as to control the timing phase of the sampling clock. A frequency-dividing-by-two section (24) frequency-divides the sampling clock to generate a reproduced symbol clock. Simultaneously with the processing of the timing reproducing unit (12), elimination of the DC offset of the sampled baseband signal and demodulation are carried out using the reproduced symbol clock.</p> |
