A design for the shapes of leading and trailing surfaces of an aircraft fuselage (1), wings or fins makes use of surfaces (2, 3) which trap and annexe volumes of air to produce turbulence at a rate four times greater than that of existing shapes. The leading or trailing surfaces are truncated to produce planes lying perpendicular to the air flow and having concave surfaces which deflect air forwards to form a wedge (V/2) of air ahead of the surface.
