<p>A structure and a method for connecting a flat belt capable of, when the flat belt is connected, increasing the tensile strength and bending strength of the flat belt along the longitudinal direction and preventing the bending strength from being increased excessively so as to remarkably improve the tensile strength of the belt along the lateral direction while improving the flexibility of a connection structure in order to prevent the belt from being torn at an engaged part; the structure for connecting the flat belt being obtained by improving a workability in connection; the structure for connecting the flat belt at the longitudinal end part formed in a serrated shape as viewed in the thickness direction, comprising both end parts engaged with each other, connection layers formed of thermoplastic resin welding the end faces of both end parts with each other, a reinforced layer formed of the thermoplastic resin on at least one surface of the front, rear, and intermediate surfaces of an engaged part at both end parts, and reinforced fibers with a high tensile strength arranged in lateral direction of the flat belt and welded to the reinforced layer.</p> |
