A pharmaceutical formulation for the prophylaxis of (or pretreatment against) poisoning by organophosphorus choline esterase inhibitors comprises desoxypeganine (I) or its salt or derivative. Independent claims are included for: (i) the use of (I) (or its salt or derivative) for the preparation of a medicament for use as above and (ii) a prophylaxis or pretreatment method as above.
