The invention relates to a sterilizing device comprising an ultraviolet ray source consisting of one or several ultraviolet ray lamps (1) emitting most of the energy in the 254 nm main frequency. The lamps are equipped with corresponding ballast-starter units (13) and are mounted inside a reflector (6) whose rays impact the surface (4) of the micro-telephone (5) through a quartz crystal (3) or a material that is transparent to radiation. The device also includes an electronic circuit comprising a connection to a power supply (9), a switch (10) that controls the starting of said device in such a way that it will only be operational if the micro-telephone is placed in the OFF position and timer (12) that regulates running time of the system. The device can also include an hour counter (14) and an annunciator indicating whether the telephone has been sterilized or not.
