The chain wrap runs between the conical friction surfaces (24) of pairs of taper discs (6,8;10,12) joined to parallel shafts (2,4). The chain-wrap (18) consists of links (20) which have end surfaces (22) for transmitting frictional force, and arms for joining the links in the form of sheet metal machined parts together. The links for a link-body which have end surfaces on its axially facing ends and from which the arms radially protrude. Two links for an annular assembly group by means of the arms.
