PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat developable photosensitive material for the production of a printing plate having good adhesion to a drum in laser exposure, good conveyability in the drum and good stability of sensitivity and to provide an image forming method by which very good dot reproducibility is ensured because of good adhesion of the heat developable photosensitive material to a photosensitive planographic printing plate. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, a heat developable photosensitive material for the production of a printing plate with a photosensitive layer A containing at least photosensitive silver halide, an organic silver salt, a silver ion reducing agent and a binder on the substrate is exposed, heat-developed and brought into close contact with a photosensitive planographic printing plate with a photosensitive layer B on the aluminum substrate and exposure and development are carried out. The Smooster(R) value of the surface rugged part of the outermost layer on the photosensitive layer A side is 10-120 mmHg before exposure and after development and the average height of the surface rugged part of the outermost layer on the photosensitive layer B side is 1-5μm. |
