PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make image defect as a result of abnormal transfer at the time of secondary transfer, or separation defect of transfer material after the secondary transfer so as to be prevented. SOLUTION: This image forming device is let composing an intermediate transfer belt 104 by material provided with volume resistance ratio not less than 108Ωcm, in order so as to minimize an influence of secondary transfer bias with regard to transfer paper outside a secondary transfer part, at the time of applying the transfer bias on a secondary transfer roller 102. Moreover, the device makes the upstream side of the secondary transfer part on the intermediate transfer belt 104 as a traveling route along the secondary transfer roller 102.
