The belt-tightener has two tensioning-arms (2,3) each with a tightening roller (4,5) and swivel mounted on a shared pivot axle (1). The tensioning arms are each sprung against a stringer of the belt. One tensioning-arm is swivel mounted on the other arm. One arm (3) has a bearing-eyelet (14) swivel mounted on the other arm's bearing-eyelet (12) itself swivel mounted on a pin (7) which has a base element (6). A radial slide bearing (15) is between the two tensioning-arms. The base element has a plate (8,9) for each of the two end sides of the pin.
