The glue stick has a casing round it and can be pushed over the edge of the casing by a transporting device for glue application. The aperture region (5) of the glue stick which is directly connected to the casing (1) is shaped so that it forms a template for the glue mass (2), deviating from a closed, flat circular contour and having geometrical through apertures (12, 13).
