The circuit has an electronic adapter (EVG) connected to a voltage supply and an ignition device (ZG) as well as a noise suppression device connected between a feed to the lamp (L) and a return line from the lamp for suppressing electromagnetic noise generated by the lamp drive. A current-compensated choke (D) is arranged between the feed and return lines with which the electromagnetic noise caused by ignition pulses is suppressed.
