PURPOSE: A control method for a sudden brake force by using a calibrating coefficient of clutch current is provided to generate a safe brake force with an engine brake by increasing current and torque of an electronic powder clutch upon a sudden brake. CONSTITUTION: A continuously variable transmission is composed of primary and secondary pulleys(21,22), a belt, a DC motor(31), a torque cam(40) and a spring. The belt is contacted between the primary and secondary pulleys. The DC motor controls the relative clearance of a variable pulley(25) to vary the contacted inner diameter of the primary pulley. The torque cam carries out the variation of the contacted inner diameter of the secondary pulley to correspond to the change of the inner diameter of the primary pulley. Herein, the continuously variable transmission is additionally prepared with a sensor for sensing a decelerated speed value upon a sudden brake and a logic circuit for fixing a calibrating coefficient of a current value fed to an electronic powder clutch(13) at 100%.
