The proposed operating mechanism (40) for a miniature circuit breaker comprises a rotary guide plate (16), which guides a movable (12), a toggle lever (18) for automatic interruption in case of failure and a lever (20) for manual control. In order to improve insulating gap and dielectric strength the guide plate (16) is provided with a guide stop (70), whose distance from the switching arm (12) shaft (42) is a first radius (R1) and from a pin (14) a second radius (R2), whereby the difference of length of the radii (R1, R2) enables increase in angle {beta} of the switching arm (12) opening, which angle is greater than the guide plate (16) angular path {alpha}.
