Tilidine, i.e. ethyl trans-3-(2-dimethylaminophenyl)-1-cyclohexanecarboxylate, is dispensed using a pump-type metering device in the form of a solution that does not corrode metal surfaces of the device. Device for dispensing an aqueous ethanolic tilidine solution comprises a pump-type metering device for dispensing precise doses of the solution from a container, where the solution contains 30-100 mg/ml tilidine in salt form, 2.5-7 mg/ml naloxone in salt form, and ethanol in an amount from 5 vol.% up to the solubility limit of tilidine at room temperature.
