The drinks holder comprises a pull-out slide (14) and associated holder (20) connected thereto by a four lever gearing (14, 16, 18, 20) so that the holder moves from a lowered to a raised position. A control lever (38) swivel mounted on the slide is pressed down when the slide is pushed in to move the holder back into the lowered position. The gearing and/or the control lever form an interlock to prevent the holder from being pressed down whilst in the raised position. A spring on the holder engages on the gearing to press the holder in the raised position. The slide has a drip tray .
