<p>A belt-type carrier system is described, that comprises a guide rail structure (50) having straight (18,18') and curved sections (19a,19a',19b,19b'). The guide rail structure (50) has at least one track extending therealong. A belt (1) extends along the guide rail structure (50). A drive device (22) is provided for driving the belt (1) along the guide rail structure (50). A spring plate (14) is put on and fixed to a part of the belt. A flexible mounting member (13) is mounted on the spring plate (14). The flexible mounting member (13) is flexed when an external stress is applied thereto. A carrier base structure (11a) is provided which has at least one follower (17a) that runs on the track of the guide rail structure (50) when the carrier base structure (11a) moves along the guide rail structure (50).
