PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To densify and miniaturize an ink jet head by constituting it out of discrete electrodes arranged on the vibrating plate side and an electrode arranged opposite to the vibrating plate as a common electrode. SOLUTION: Discrete electrodes 13 are provided on the outer face side of a vibrating plate 11 of a vibrating plate/liquid chamber substrate 1 through an insulating/separating membrane 12 and the surface of the discrete electrodes 13 is protection-covered with an electrode protecting coat 14 such as an oxidized coat. An external electrode 15 for the discrete electrodes 13 is integrally formed with the discrete electrodes 13 by extending the electrodes 13 to the side below a common ink flow path 8. A common electrode substrate 2 is junctioned to the side below the vibrating plate/liquid chamber substrate 1 through a gap spacer member 3 formed on the vibrating plate/liquid chamber substrate 1 and thus the common electrode substrate 2 and the discrete electrodes 13 are arranged opposite to each other leaving a specified gap 16 in between. Consequently, it is possible to densify and miniaturize the head.
