PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wound body without a core not causing collapse of winding and tear trouble in use, to provide a manufacturing method for the wound body, and to provide a packing machine having a band reel for the wound body without a core capable of using up a thermoplastic resin cord to the end. SOLUTION: In this wound body, a thermoplastic resin cord 1 is wound in a large number of times in a coil state without a core. The plural thermoplastic resin cords 1 overlapped each other are formed with a through hole 2, a loop body 11 is formed by melting and joining a peripheral part of the through hole 2, and the thermoplastic resin cord 1 is wound around the loop body 11. The loop body 11 can be formed by hot welding and joining the plural thermoplastic resin cords 1 overlapped each other, or by spanning a cord-like or string-like reinforcing material in the wound body width direction between the thermoplastic resin cords wound in the coil state.
