<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture at low cost by rocking a pair of pads about pivots provided on the respective inside end parts by pulling a cable in the radially inward direction of a rotor and pressing both side surfaces of the rotor through linings by the pads to exhibit braking force. SOLUTION: In braking, a cable 4 is pulled inward in the radial direction of a rotor 1 by the operation of a brake lever or the like. The space between curved parts 11 formed at the tip edges of back plates 9a, 9b constituting a pair of pads 3a, 3b where the middle part closer to the tip of the cable 4 are suspended is contracted. The pads 3a, 3b are rocked about screws 18, 18 which are pivots provided on the respective inner diameter side ends. Consequently, the linings 10, 10 of the pads 3a, 3b press both the side surface of the rotor 1, and a braking force is exhibited by the frictional forces acting between the surfaces of the linings 10, 10 and both the side surfaces of the rotor 1.</p> |
