PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain both of reduction in dimensions of a car body to a compact and reduction of an occupant deceleration in a further higher dimension by generating the force for tilting a seat back backward by collision load at the initial stage of a collision, and stopping the power transmission of a power transmission gear during the collision and the late stage of the collision. SOLUTION: A side member 8 which is united in a body with a floor 5 and extended forward simultaneously with a collision is caused to immediately start buckling deformation by shock load applied to the front end thereof, thereby tilting a seat backward (a). Subsequently, the collision proceeds and in its mid-stage, a nut member 9 abuts on a collision surface, the seat is stopped to tilt backward, and the deceleration of the seat is lowered (b). At the final stage of the collision, the deceleration of the seat is increased, and then the seat and the floor 5 are united in a body at the deceleration determined by the deformation stress of the side member 8 to continue to decelerate. In such a condition, the relative speed of an occupant 2 and the floor 5 is zero so that the occupant 2 continues to decelerate in a body with the floor 5 (c).
