摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a longitudinal length of an engine, to reduce the weight of the engine and to shorten a wheel base, so as to reduce the total weight of a vehicle, by arranging a shaft center of a third shaft in a side more front than a vertical line passing through a shaft center of the second shaft and perpendicular to a split face. SOLUTION: In this engine for a vehicle 1, a crank case 2 is split into an upperside case part 3 and a lowerside case part 4, a crank shaft 5, a shift change main shaft 6 and a shift sub-shaft 7 are arranged in the crank case 2, and the crank shaft 5, the main shaft 6 and the subshaft 7 are connected in order via gears 9, 10, 11. In this engine, the crank shaft 5 and the sub-shaft 7 are arranged on a split face between the upperside case 3 and the lowerside case 4, the sub-shaft 7 is provided in a rear side of the crank shaft 5, the main shaft 6 is provided in an upper side of the split face 14, and a shaft center O2 of the sub-shaft 7 is arranged in a front side of a vertical line P passing through a shaft center O1 of the main shaft 6 and perpendicular to the slit face 14.
