PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handkerchief excellent in wiping cloth properties, water absorptivity, touch, feeling, or the like, only slightly losing lint from the wiping surface and having antibacterial performance excellent in laundry durability. SOLUTION: This handkerchief comprises a synthetic fiber having 0.001-0.5 d monofilament fineness and a natural fiber and is characterized by 20-60 wt.% natural fiber content. The production method of the handkerchief comprises forming a knit or woven fabric out of a polyester-based conjugate fiber and a natural fiber wherein the conjugate fiber has a sea-island structure whose island component has <=0.5 d monofilament fineness, then treating the knit or woven fabric in hot water to remove the sea component of the polyester- based conjugate fiber and conferring a pyridine-based antibacterial agent.
