PREVENTION OF EXCESSIVE STICKING OF PAPER TO PRESS ROLL OF PAPER MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which excessive sticking of a paper to a roll surface is prevented over a long period and both abrasion and fouling are prevented in a paper machine. SOLUTION: This method is to prevent excessive sticking of a paper 2 to the surface of a press roll 1 in the press roll 1 in a state thereof fed with the paper 2 by operation of a paper machine. The direct continuous feeding and application of a prescribed amount of a paper improver to the surface of the rotating press roll 1 are continued. A wax film can be formed and maintained on the surface of the press roll 1 to thereby prevent an excessive sticking phenomenon of the paper 2 to the utmost and further prevent the fouling or abrasion of the press roll 1. The quality of the produced paper 2 can resultantly be improved. Even the abrasion of a doctor blade attached to the press roll 1 is prevented to improve the durability.
