PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire suitable for a passenger car or a small-size truck allowing improvement of fatigue resistance in a carcass ply and allowing improvement of kinematical performance, especially driving stability. SOLUTION: This pneumatic radial tire with a carcass 2 as a framework comprises a carcass body 20 made of a ply of radial arrangement cords toroidally extending between a pair of bead cores 1, and a folding-back 21 wherein the carcass ply is folded back from the inside of the tire to the outside at the bead core 1 and extends to the tire radial direction outside. A total of a projected segment of a portion disposed on the tire width direction inside of the centerline of a tire radial thickness in a width directional cross section of the tire installed to a standard rim, of the folding-back part, upon a straight line L perpendicular to the tire rotation axis is above 30% of a segment P'Q', wherein P', Q' are respectively projected points of a separation point P from a tire side part of a flange 5a of the rim and a terminal end Q of the folding- back part in the tire width directional cross section upon the straight line L.
