PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording medium which is capable of forming a high-quality image on paper with a low surface smoothness such as a government-issued postcard. SOLUTION: This thermal transfer recording medium has at least a heat- meltable mold release layer, a heat-softening colored ink layer and a heat- softening adhesive layer laminated in that order on a support. In addition, the softening point of the heat-softening colored ink layer is 45 deg.C or less and the softening point of the heat-softening adhesive layer is 65-100 deg.C, the melting viscosity at the described softening points being 100,000 cP or more. |
