PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece holding jig that fixes firmly to machine tools and can improve the machining accuracy and prevent workpiece deformation during machining, even if the workpiece is low in strength because of a small thickness among others. SOLUTION: A holding jig 10 that holds a workpiece W when used with a machine tool for machining the workpiece W by placing a tool 14 on the workpiece W and moving them relatively, has a shrinkage fit portion 26 for fixing the workpiece W via shrinkage fit and a supportable portion 25 supported on support means 13 of the machine tool. The workpiece W thus fixed to the machine-tool support means 13 via the holding jig 10 is free of deformation even under high chucking pressure and of unfastening via the shrinkage fit even if being thin.
