PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To even the temperature distribution of a die and prevent thermal deformation of the die by using a laminated die, wherein the dies are laminated in thickness direction of a slab, and installing plural rows of coolant passages on one laminated face. SOLUTION: Dies are installed at upper and lower parts in a way to sandwich a slab 1. Each die comprises a reduction die 2 for reducing the slab 1, and a cooling die 3 which is laminated on the reduction die 2 for cooling. A plane shape of the reduction die 2 is a rectangle, whose length direction is the moving direction and whose width direction is the perpendicular direction of the slab 1, where the width is larger than the length. A protruded peak part of the reduction die 2 forms a peak part plane 2a, and the bottom part of the cooling die 3 has a concave part to be fitted with the protrusion of the reduction die 2. The bottom of the concave part has a lamination plane 3a, and contacts the peak part plane 2a of the reduction die 2. Plural linear coolant passages 4 are installed to the lamination plane 3a in the length direction. The coolant passages 4 are arranged densely at the width center, and roughly as it goes to the width end, so as to flatten temperature distribution of the reduction die 2.
