PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting device of molten metal, by which a high quality casting piece can be manufactured without deteriorating the structural strength and life of a mold. SOLUTION: A direct current exciting coil 22 is wound in a vertical face parallel to a side plate 101 of a mold 1, and excited by a direct current power source 23 so as to generate a direct current magnetic flux in a horizontal direction in the mold 1. An alternating current exciting coil 24 is wound around the mold 1, and excited by an alternating current power source 25, so as to generate an eddy current circulated on the horizontal face in the molten metal. By the interaction of the direct current magnetic flux and the eddy current, an electromagnetic force in the vertical direction is generated in the molten metal. By the electromagnetic force, meniscus is vibrated upwards/downwards, so that powder entrainment is accelerated at the upper part of the meniscus. Also, the electromagnetic force acts on the solidification interface so as to promote fining of crystals.
