PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust dynamic pressure bearing which can efficiently collect lubricating fluid at a radially center portion of a herringbone-shaped dynamic pressure generation groove, and show maximum load application performance. SOLUTION: In this thrust dynamic pressure bearing, a dynamic pressure generation groove on an outer peripheral part 3A under the strongest centrifugal force has maximum depth for increasing performance of capturing lubricating fluid. A dynamic pressure generation groove on an inner peripheral part 3C under the minimum centrifugal force but requiring performance for collecting the lubricating fluid at a center portion 3B has secondly deeper depth. A groove on the center portion 3B has the least depth due to herringbone typed form of the dynamic pressure generation grooves. It is thus possible to take balance performance for collecting the lubricating fluid from the outer peripheral part 3A under the maximum centrifugal force to the center portion 3B, and collecting the lubricating fluid from the inner peripheral part 3C under the minimum centrifugal force to the center portion 3B. The lubricating fluid can efficiently be collected to the radially center portion 3B of the dynamic pressure generation groove 3.
