PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance chemical resistance, degassing capacity and durability by using a potting material characterized by that the mass change per the surface area of a potting material test piece after immersed in a chemical soln. at room temp. for a specific period is within a specific range for the purpose of bonding and fixing a hollow fiber membrane of its module. SOLUTION: In a hollow fiber membrane module 1 wherein both end parts of each of hollow-fiber yarn membranes 3 used in the degassing of a chemical soln. in a semiconductor producing process, a printer, a liquid crystal sealing process or a chemical soln. producing process are fixed to the inside of a housing in an open state by potting materials 2, 2, each of the potting materials 2 to be used is characterized by that the mass change per the surface area of a potting material test piece after immersed in a chemical soln. at room temp. for 6 months is within a range of -20-+20 mg/cm2. As the potting material 2, a cured matter of an epoxy resin having a polysulfide skeleton or three or more glycidyl groups in its molecule is desirable.
