PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an air cleaning unit adaptable to various utilizing forms and capable of forming a cleaning space high in the degree of freedom without receiving the restriction of an arranging space or the like. SOLUTION: This air cleaning unit comprises a filter unit 2 wherein a blowoff port 22 is bored in one flat surface of a casing 21 having a flat box-shaped cavity 20 and a main filter 24 is provided in the casing behind the blowoff port and a fan unit 3 wherein a suction port 36 is bored in one flat surface of a casing having a flat box-shaped cavity 30 and a prefilter 37 is provided to the suction port and a blower 33 is provided in the casing behind the suction port and communication ports 26, 38 allowing both casings to communicate with each other are bored in the connection end surfaces of the filter unit 2 and the fan unit 3 to be connected by a detachable connection means 4 to integrate both units.
