PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an increase in filtering flow rate, the extension of life and the enhancement of filtering efficiency, in a filter having a laminate consisting of three or more porous adsorbing material layers, by making the average pore size of each of the porous adsorbing material layers smaller than that of the porous adsorbing material layer adjacent on the side of a liquid to be filtered. SOLUTION: In a water purifier 1 wherein a columnar block-shaped filter 10 having a hollow part 11 at its center is housed in a cylindrical container 2, the filter 10 comprises a porous molded body wherein three porous adsorbing material layers are laminated and the porous molded body is constituted of an inner layer 12, an intermediate layer 13 and an outer layer 14 all of which different in average pore size from each other. At this time, the average pore size of the inner, intermediate and outer layers 12, 13, 14 is made smaller than that of the porous adsorbing material layer adjacent on the side of a liquid to be filtered. That is, the average pore size of the intermediate layer is made smaller than that of the outer layer 14 and the average pore size of the inner layer 12 is made smaller than that of the intermediate layer 13.
