PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject foam having a high expansion ratio, causing no chapped skin by defoaming, having a soft touch, a low permanent compression set and excellent tear strength characteristics and heat resistance by making the foam include an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer having specific physical properties and a modified polyolefin. SOLUTION: This olefin-based elastomer cross-linked foam is obtained by melting and plasticizing a composition comprising (A) 70-95 pts.wt. of an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer having 0.88-0.92 g/cm3 density and 0.1-10 g/10 minutes melt flow rate (ASTM D 1,238, 190 deg.C, 2.16 kg load), (B) 5-30 pts.wt. of a modified polyolefin obtained by grafting an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative onto a polyolefin, (C) an organic peroxide (e.g. dicumyl peroxide), (D) a crosslinking auxiliary (e.g. sulfur, etc.), and (E) a blowing agent (e.g. azodicarbonamide, etc.), by a kneader, pelletizing the mixture by a granulator making pellets into a sheet by an extruder, melting the sheet under pressure at 160-175 deg.C and foaming the sheet.
