PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for disinfecting seed paddy capable of stably maintaining temperature of spraying water on a piled layer of seed paddy at a proper temperature and sufficiently disinfecting the seed paddy while retaining a high rate of the germination. SOLUTION: This disinfecting apparatus 1 for seed paddy is constituted by disinfecting pathogenic bacteria attached to the surface of seed paddy and lurking between chaffs and seedvessels by pouring hot water on them. The apparatus is provided with a porous case containing the seed paddy with sufficient room or a porous box like seed paddy container 24 to contain a net bag containing the seed paddy with sufficient room, a hot water spraying part 7 spouting hot water located under the seed paddy container 24, a hot water tank 2 internally installing the seed paddy container 24 and the hot water spraying part 7, a water heater 3 heating the hot water staying in the hot water tank 2 to a fixed temperature while circulating the hot water, and a hot water injector 4 pressurizing the hot water in the hot water tank 2 and supplying the pressurized hot water to the hot water spraying part 7. |
