PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the quality of ink by taking the correction operation to the quality of ink from the data related to the pressure, temp. and jet speed of ink, the characteristic value of an ink circuit and the level difference between a printing head and a pressure converter. SOLUTION: The relation connecting the operation pressure of a printer with the quality of ink is the sum total of four items, that is, a kinetic energy item aρV2, a viscous friction item bμV, a position energy itemρgh and the item related to a fluid surface tension item. The final surface tension item can be neglected if compared with the other items. When a machine is started, the ejection of ink is changed on the basis of the nominal value thereof and the pressure obtained as a result is measured and the a-characteristic value and b-characteristic value of an ink circuit, the characteristicsρ,μof ink to be used and the level difference H between a printing head and a pressure converter 20 are determined. A desired pressure value is set on the basis of these values and correction operation can be taken with respect to the quality of ink. |
