<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the assembling and supporting properties of a coupling for electromagnetally controlling transmission torque. SOLUTION: This coupling 1 is provided with a rotary case 5, the right and left end supporting parts of which are rotatably supported in a fixed case 3 filled with oil, a hollow shaft 9 the inner and outer ends of which are rotatably supported in its shaft center part, a main clutch 9 and a pilot clutch 11 which are arranged between both members 5, 7, a ball cam which converts fastening torque into thrust force and enlarges it when the pilot clutch 11 is fastened, and a pressure plate 63 for receiving the thrust force to fasten the main clutch. The left end supporting part of the rotary case 5 is arranged at about axially the same position as the outer end supporting part of the shaft 7, and the right end part of the rotary case 5 is supported through the outer end part of a rotor 19 integrated into the right end part and the fixed part of a core 25 integrated into the fixed case 3 at about axially the same position as the outer end part of the rotor.</p> |
